Reaction Time: Republic Act. 10175 or The Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012
In RA. 10175, announce the law regarding Cybercrimes, how they will suppress the offenders and penalties that they could impose for the offenders that it is still based on the Law.
The Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, officially recorded as Republic Act No. 10175, is a law in the Philippines approved on September 12, 2012. It aims to address legal issues concerning online interactions and the Internet in the Philippines. Among the cybercrime offenses included in the bill are cybersquatting, cybersex, child pornography, identity theft, illegal access to data and libel.- Wikipedia.com
We have this Act for nearly a decade now, while the Philippines is using the internet for more than two decades, but this cybercrime act has been put into law recently because that time, cybercrime probably is not widespread across the country, that may be because we do not have the fast internet like other countries have and we are not well literate in the online world by that time. In our time today, many crimes happen in cyberspace because almost everyone has access to it, especially to those people who are living at the knife-edge, leads them to do illegal online to earn easy money, rather than a legal job where you are not taking advantage to others.
Meanwhile, as a lawful citizen of the Philippines, we should obey this act strictly. And as a student that studies computer science, I will put this in mind and remind others that there is a law or act that prohibits cybercrimes. Hoping the authorities also strictly obey this act without prejudices.
