Key Freedom of Expression Issues
Question: Is it okay that anything that you do, anywhere that you go and anything that you feel is posted on social media?
In our current era, sharing personal information about our selves in our lives are much straightforward than ever before through social media such as facebook, twitter, Instagram, etc. unlike instead of talking to a person physically. This gave us to be more expressive expressing our thoughts and idea's in mind. But sometimes we also neglect if this information is necessary to be on our social media. We forget to think if this should be known by anybody else especially if it can affect another person or about personal issues that can only be resolve by compromising the involved person or just let it slide.
In my personal view, I am not into expressing or posting much on social media about myself, unless if it is necessary like for academic purposes or occasions. Although sharing thoughts does really help you to express if you are feeling frustrated, stress, and happy, and somehow feels good because there's a way where you can share it with and read by random people out there scrolling down the news feed. The bad side is when you starting to share hate posts and private information. Think before you post, be selective on what are you going to post because this may lead you to security problems, your reputation, and it is unhealthy for you if you will share this kind of information. Like Facebook and Twitter, if some stalkers of you do really want information about you, they would just go to your profile and boom, be aware of this.
Yes, social media is useful in various ways, nevertheless, you are not alone using it, and you are exposed to different people with good and bad intentions. Don't let it take over your real life that it may cause to affect also your mental health, if that happens try disconnecting and do something productive without internet and social media.
