Perception About Cyberbullying, Software Piracy & Plagiarism

Digital Technology, such as gadgets, computers, and the internet gave us the new way of living making our life easier to live, interact with other people, and bring us to a virtual world, despite these advantages, this also comes with consequences one of it is called cyberbullying.
Cyberbullying is an act of bullying that takes place in the digital world, this includes such as sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about someone else. It also includes sharing personal information about someone that can cause embarrassment or humiliation.
The most common place where it occurs in social media such as Facebook, twitter, youtube, and Instagram, etc. It also happens in online community forum & email websites, online games, and SMS.
Meanwhile this most likely happens to schools where students having the most highly social area exposed to. Unfortunately, mental, physical, and social stability of students affects very badly, leading to self-isolation and worse suicidal attempts in the minds of the person. Even though schools have counseling office this issue must take seriously and eradicate this kind of unacceptable action, no matter what.
Software Piracy |
Next, Software Piracy, related to digital technology, this act is known for stealing software that is legally protected by law. This subjects copying, distributing, selling, and modifying the software.
In the digital world, we also have a law that prohibits stealing software. This act is unethical to everyone who owns and develops Softwares. Because of this act, many developers & software companies are losing money that should for better software development and maintain company assets.
According to pandasecurity.com, Software piracy has become a worldwide issue with China, the United States, and India being the top three offenders. The commercial value of pirated software is $19 billion in North America and Western Europe and has reached $27.3 billion in the rest of the world. According to the 2018 Global Software Survey, 37% of software installed on personal computers is unlicensed software.
Meanwhile according to philstar.ph, more than half of the companies in the Philippines use pirated Softwares. With that, software piracy law must be reinforced.
Plagiarism |
Lastly, Plagiarism, basically, it is like software piracy, but in this term, the way of stealing is not in software, but the idea or work of someone presenting it as yours, with or without their consent.
